Canna: Aussies were lucky

Fabio Cannavaro has rejected claims Italy were fortunate to reach
the quarter-finals, insisting if anyone had the rub of the green,
it was Australia.

“I am irritated by those who described us as lucky.
We had at least six or seven scoring opportunities.
How many did Australia have – a couple at best?”
Cannavaro說：「我被那些說我們幸運的人搞得有點煩，
我們有至少六到七個得分機會，澳洲有幾個？最多兩個吧？」

The Azzurri clung on for almost the entire second half following
Marco Materazzi’s harsh dismissal, but qualified thanks to
a contested Francesco Totti penalty in the final seconds of stoppages.
The Socceroos were furious that Lucas Neill's challenge
on Fabio Grosso was considered a foul.

“If anyone was lucky, it was Australia,
as they were able to play against 10 men for 40 minutes.
Nonetheless, I was sure we would get through.
The Australians play a very predictable style of football and,
when Andrea Barzagli came on, I told him to enjoy himself.
This is the kind of game where a defender has fun.”
「如果真有哪隊比較幸運，那就是澳洲了，他們能夠跟十人球隊打上個四十分鐘，
但是，我確定我們能夠晉級，澳洲的踢球方式非常容易預判，
Barzagli換上場時，我叫他好好享受，這是那種後衛可以有點樂子的比賽。」

The Azzurri captain has been outstanding in Germany 2006 so far
and his form has filtered through to central defensive partners
Alessandro Nesta, Materazzi and Barzagli.

“I've always been strong physically and I think for a player
what happens off the field is even more important,”
grinned the Juventus defender. “I don't drink or smoke.
I eat well, get plenty of sleep and, when the mood takes,
sex is good for you too.”
談及良好的近況，Cannavaro說：
「我體能上一直都很強，而且我認為對一個球員來說，場下做的事甚至更重要，
我不喝酒也不抽煙，我吃得很好，睡很多，當心情對了，性愛對你也有幫助。」
