Gennaro Gattuso has become the symbol of this World Cup for Italy
and has urged Marcello Lippi to stay on the Azzurri bench
for many more years.
Gattuso已經成為了義大利本屆世界盃的象徵，
他力勸 Lippi在義大利主教練的位置上多留幾年。

The battling midfielder's honesty, hard work and charisma
have won over the media both on and off the field and
he was the star in today's Press Conference.
Some of the local journalists even suggested he is the symbol
of this tournament after Ronaldinho's exit with Brazil.
奮戰不懈的中場球員 Gattuso以其誠實、勤奮與個人魅力，
在賽場上下都贏得了媒體的愛戴，他是今天記者會的大明星，
一部份當地記者甚至推測在 Ronaldinho隨巴西一同出局之後，
本屆世界盃的象徵將會是 Gattuso。

“A comparison like that is an insult to football!” he joked.
“With all due respect, I can play well and win back the ball,
but the class and spectacle of Ronaldinho are things
I can only dream about. As for Italy, there are real symbols like
Luca Toni, Andrea Pirlo and Francesco Totti who make the difference.
I'd like Alessandro Del Piero to be decisive,
as he's someone who emerges as time goes on and never gives in.”
對此 Gattuso開玩笑的說：「這樣的比較簡直就是在侮辱足球！
無意冒犯，我能踢的不錯然後把球搶回來，
但是 Ronaldinho能創造的奇觀水準，對我來說只能是夢想，
至於義大利，我們有真正的象徵像是能為球隊作出改變的 Toni、Pirlo、Totti，
我認為 Dle Piero也是決定性的人物，他總能從困境中出頭而且從不讓步。」

The Milanista was FIFA's Man of the Match following
the 3-0 quarter-final victory over the Ukraine and
the Germans see him as a key player in Tuesday's clash in Dortmund.
His tough tackling style could cause problems,
however, as he is on a yellow card and another booking
would rule him out of the Final.
Gattuso是義大利３－０擊敗烏克蘭那場比賽的ＭＯＭ，
德國人認為他會是週二兩隊在多特蒙德交手的關鍵球員，
他兇狠的鏟斷球風能造成影響，不過，因為身上有一張黃牌，
如果再吃牌就將無緣決賽。

“I will play with my usual style and it'll be a test of maturity.
In fact, I'd gladly sign away my chances of playing the Final
if it meant Italy were there on July 9. Having said that,
it's not as if I'm looking for a card with a Rambo bandana round my head.
If the referee waves a yellow at me, I might just have to eat it!”
對此 Gattuso說：「我會想往常一樣踢球，這會是成熟度的考驗，
實際上，我會很高興地簽字放棄在決賽上出戰的機會，
如果這表示義大利隊會在九號出現的話，
不過雖然這麼說，我可不會無腦地在場上找牌吃，
如果裁判對我舉黃牌，我可能會把牌給吃了！」

Gattuso had perhaps not been Lippi's first choice for the midfield,
but Daniele De Rossi's four-match ban opened up the door for him
 to put in a series of gritty performances.
With talk that the Coach will leave his post after the World Cup,
regardless of the result, he asked for this to be a starting point
and not a finish line for the squad.
Gattuso或許不會是 Lippi在中場的首選，
不過 De Rossi的四場禁賽為 Gattuso之後的驍勇表現開了一扇門，
基於傳聞 Lippi將在世界盃後離任，不論結果如何，
Gattuso要大家把這場比賽當作是起點而非終點線。

“Where does my grit come from? It's like asking Totti where
he gets his quality. I really can't explain it.
This team really reflects the figure of its Coach,
all the way from the spirit to the style of play.
You can see he's the leader. He doesn't set any rules for us,
even though it may not seem that way from the outside,
because his personality is so strong that you can't help
but respect him,” explained ‘Rino’.
Gattuso說：「我的膽量哪來的？
這跟問 Totti怎麼能踢那麼好一樣嘛，我無法解釋這種東西，
這隻球隊確實反應了 Lippi的想像，從精神到打法，
你們可以看出他的領導地位，他並沒有為我們訂下規則，
雖然從集訓營外面看來可能不是這麼一回事，
那是因為他的個性很強硬，你們無法不尊敬他。」

“Lippi puts such desire into his everyday work
that it's only right he remain as our Coach,
especially after all the success we've had in the last two years.
There's no point discussing it now, though, as we have to concentrate
on this semi-final. At the end of the day, the only man who can make
that decision is him.”
「Lippi把這樣的渴望投注於他的每一項工作，
所以讓他留任才是正確的選擇，特別是在我們近兩年來取得了這些成功之後，
儘管現在還不是討論這個的時候，我們應該專注在四強戰，
到了最後，能夠做決定的人還是只有他。」

If Gattuso risks a ban, then Germany will be able to count on
Torsten Frings for Tuesday's clash. The player was caught on camera
punching Julio Cruz during the melee that followed
the quarter-final penalty shoot-out with Argentina,
but FIFA have announced they won't be taking
disciplinary action against him.
如果說 Gattuso有禁賽危機，那德國則賺到了一個 Frings，
Frings被攝影機拍到在八強對阿根廷點球戰之後打了 Cruz一拳，
不過 FIFA已宣佈不會追加處份給予禁賽。

"Two years ago the Danish cameras caught Totti spitting at
Christian Poulsen and that footage was used to inflict a ban.
This time our television spotted the punch,
but I don't want to cause controversy," added the former Rangers star.
Gattuso針對這件事說：「兩年前丹麥攝影機拍到 Totti吐 Poulsen口水，
那卷帶子被用於讓 Totti被重罰禁賽，這次我們的電視看到那拳了，
不過我無意引起爭議。」
