Italy qualified for the last 16 with a 2-0 win over the Czech Republic,
but there were some disappointing performances

 Gigi Buffon: 7.5 
Super in between the sticks for the Azzurri, Buffon made some crucial
and fine saves throughout. Commanded his box and won his personal duel
with friend Pavel Nedved.

 Gianluca Zambrotta: 6 
Characteristically got forward but Zambrotta,
this time fielded on the right, wasn't as influential as normal.
His final pass and crossing was also not of his usual high standard.

 Fabio Cannavaro: 8 
Immense yet again. Undoubtedly one of the best defenders
in the tournament so far, there was no way past the Juventino.
Even threatened to score with a volley of all things.

 Alessandro Nesta: 6 
Did seem to struggle in the opening phases where he looked unbalanced
and unsure. His injury inadvertently paved the way for victory seeing
as he was replaced by Materazzi.

 Fabio Grosso: 5 
Lippi, we have a problem! Recalled to the line-up after his struggles in
the first game, Grosso pushed forward but left massive gaps at the back.
Seemed heavy legged.

 Andrea Pirlo: 5.5 
Struggled badly in the centre of the park.
There were no trademark searching passes and his sluggishness
in possession could have proved costly. Too timid, he must do better.

 Gennaro Gattuso: 6.5 
Took on Nedved in the opening stages with his usual gutsy performance.
Always ready to close down opponents, his intelligent header almost
rippled the net.

 Simone Perrotta: 6 
Had an anonymous first half, but significantly improved after
the Czechs were reduced to 10 men. Saying that, sticking him
in a wide position does hamper his performances.

 Mauro Camoranesi: 6 
Confused while playing in a free role behind the two strikers,
was a little more reliable when reverted to his usual flank role.
Decent, but nothing to write home about.

 Francesco Totti: 5.5 
Admittedly crossed for the opening goal and almost scored himself,
but this is not the real Totti. How many chances can Lippi afford
to give him?

 Alberto Gilardino: 6 
Again put himself about during the game without making
too much of an impact. However, with little support up there,
what more could he have done?

 Marco Materazzi: 7 
The surprise of the day. He easily slotted into defence alongside
Fabio Cannavaro, scored his first international goal and
there was no dodgy tackle in sight. Our compliments to Marco…

 Simone Barone: No vote 
Came on near the end of the game to bulk up the midfield.
Not given enough time to make a telling contribution.

 Pippo Inzaghi: 7 
Made sure of the points with a typical Inzaghi goal,
but only after he missed two sitters. Thanks to his fresh legs,
he could be Italy's super sub in this tournament.

 Marcello Lippi: 6.5 
The side didn't play great but a win is what counts.
Made the right decision in dropping Zaccardo,
the problem is that he only has one Zambrotta.
His subs rewarded him with goals, even if his insistence on playing
this Totti could be the Azzurri's eventual downfall.

推 Bleed:我覺得Grosso好像表現也沒那麼差，至少他最後階段挺住了

推 Okuthor:與其說Grosso挺住了不如說上半場Poborsky真的表現不好，而
