義足協當家人直言最愛托蒂 斷然否認裏皮將因醜聞下臺

委會主席的職責，義大利隊與加納隊的比賽，圭多‧羅西也在漢諾威，並和球隊
一起在深夜趕回了杜伊斯堡，第二天才返回義大利。「我很開心，這是場精彩的
比賽」，但圭多‧羅西接下來透露的內容，卻和比賽沒直接關係。「是的，有人

回到了義大利，圭多‧羅西要面對的，依然是醜聞。「是的，我們現在有些頭緒

了貝肯鮑爾，他告訴我，媒體上寫的某些東西，他沒有說過。總之，這是一次很
好的機會，我們可以澄清許多東西。」
2300萬義大利人觀看了比賽直播，圭多‧羅西說，義大利國家隊才真正代表了義
大利足球，裏皮的工作很出色。「足球醜聞爆發後，我仔細詢問了檢察機關，他
們說裏皮和醜聞沒關係。我評估了裏皮的工作，決心讓裏皮留在自己的位置上。」

們談國家隊。」
很想再回德國看國家隊的比賽，但足球醜聞和意大利申辦2012年歐洲杯都牽扯了
圭多‧羅西的精力。「是的，醜聞要有個處理期限，2012年歐洲杯我們志在必得。」
對陣美國隊沒時間，６月22日肯定去看義大利隊與捷克隊的比賽，圭多‧羅西
還想和裏皮、托蒂搞個約定，「７月９日柏林見」，這肯定是全義大利都渴望
的約定。

Federation chief Guido Rossi has revealed he was put under pressure
to sack Italy Coach Marcello Lippi ahead of the World Cup.
When Lippi was included in the Calciopoli investigation
amid allegations he had picked players represented by GEA World,
the agency linked with former Juventus director general Luciano Moggi,
there were calls in the Press and behind the scenes for the tactician
to be dropped just weeks before the start of Germany 2006.
“We had a great debut against Ghana, who showed such team spirit and
really looked like a club side who has worked together for months.
The work done by our Coach has been excellent –
and to think I was pressured to sack him! It would've been absurd,
as the magistrates confirmed to me that there was no evidence
of his involvement. I am very glad I made that decision,
as the scandal sits apart from this sport.”
Many feared the Azzurri would suffer under the spotlight of
the Calciopoli inquest, but instead it appears to have pushed
the players together in their 2-0 opening victory.
The fans also showed they are behind them,
as 23 million tuned in to watch the game.
“We all hoped the Nazionale could take an important role
in the rebirth of our football, because that's where it has
to begin again,” Rossi told the ‘Gazzetta dello Sport.’
“That certainly doesn't mean the other issues will be wiped off the map.
The fact the performances are the ones hitting the headlines now
will give me the chance to work with slightly less pressure
to get the investigation concluded in good time.”
The FIGC chief flew back from Hanover to Düsseldorf on the same plane
as the Azzurri and admits he had special attention for one player.
“It was an opportunity to show my respect for the players and
get to know them a little better. Francesco Totti is an idol
for my daughters, even though they support Inter, so I had to get
his autograph for them.”
Rossi hopes he can bring good luck to the Italy side and
looked to superstition to see him attend the Final.
“I will be in Hamburg on June 22 for the Czech Republic match.
I do have a special dream, as I studied and lived in Berlin
for some time and adore the city. I'd like to return there soon,
let's just say July 9 would be a good date for a visit.”
