Trap lands Stuttgart post
Giovanni Trapattoni is the new Coach of German giants Stuttgart,
after failing to land an Italian job.
The 66-year-old was looking for a return to the peninsula this summer
but links with Lazio and Roma led to nothing.
Trap returns to Germany for the third time after two previous spells
with Bayern Munich, whom he led to a Bundesliga title in 1997.
Trapattoni has signed a two-year contract with the outfit on Friday,
following the sacking of former Inter midfielder Matthias Sammer in June.
The ex-Italy boss is best remembered for leading Juventus
and Inter to the Serie A title during a glittering career.
He further enhanced his reputation this season,
leading Benfica to their first Portuguese championship
for 11 years following his arrival last summer.
