Maybe it's drawing the attention you deserve away from you, despite your efforts. This could naturally cause you to feel a lot of resentment, especially when you have worked so hard and so honorably. Does that mean that you should become the squeakier wheel? Probably not, even though that may seem to be the most obvious solution.
Just keep doing what you're doing and your talent and your dedication will soon outshine the competition.
