It appears that Sidney Ponson's next destination will be in a division he
knows well.
Ponson is expected to sign with the Yankees by the end of the day Friday. He
was designated for assignment by the Cardinals last week, and then released.
Ponson, 29, went 4-4 with a 5.24 ERA for St. Louis. He was let go when the
Cardinals needed to make room on their roster after trading for Jeff Weaver.
