發人深省的一段



16.「我可把這一代比作什麼呢？它像坐在大街上的兒童，向其他的孩子喊叫，說：

17.我給你們吹了笛，你們卻不跳舞，我們唱了哀歌，你們卻不捶胸。

18.若翰來了，也不吃，也不喝，他們便說：他附了魔；

19.人子來了，也吃也喝，他們卻說：看哪！一個貪吃嗜酒的人，
   稅吏和罪人的朋友！但智慧必藉自己的工程彰顯自己的正義。」

16 'What comparison can I find for this generation?
It is like children shouting to each other as they sit in the market place:

17 We played the pipes for you, and you wouldn't dance; we sang dirges, and
you wouldn't be mourners.

18 For John came, neither eating nor drinking, and they say, "He is
possessed."

19 The Son of man came, eating and drinking, and they say,
"Look, a glutton and a drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners." Yet
wisdom is justified by her deeds.'

神學上我不知道　也許可　不確定

但單單從那句英文的字面上看來　好像是不行　
那句還蠻平鋪直述的
因為耶穌為了傳教，會跟著大家一起吃飯喝酒　
就被偽善的人罵成貪吃與酒鬼，耶穌就說：

Wisdom is justified（被證明為正確） by her deeds（行為）.
（智慧會因為它的所作所為，最後被證明是正確的）
（這句的her，是wisdom的代名詞，把wisdom當作女性）

以這個上下文，我是覺得，有點像是耶穌單純表達說：
「你們繼續觀察我的行為，最後就會知道，那些毀謗都是假的」這樣

但耶穌沒講得這麼粗簡　而是用格言式的表達方式這樣
（那句話很有格言的感覺）

如果要用成語來翻譯…我大概會翻成「日久見人心」或「真金不怕火煉」吧

不過還是沒耶穌親口講的那句話這麼雋永
