路加福音二22-35

這篇文字有點難 但慢慢讀還ok~~
西默盎對聖母的預言，與創世紀天主對Eve與蛇的預言有些關連：
『I shall put enmity（敵意） between you（蛇） and the woman,
and between your offspring（子孫） and hers;
it（女人的後代） will bruise（使瘀青、受傷） your head and
you will strike its（女人的後代） heel.'
我要把仇恨放在你和女人，你的後裔和她的後裔之間，
她的後裔要踏碎你的頭顱，
你要傷害他的腳跟。』

22 按梅瑟的法律，一滿了他們取潔的日期，他們便帶著孩子上耶路撒冷
去獻給上主，
22 And after the days of her purification, according to the law of Moses,
were accomplished, they carried him to Jerusalem, to present him to the
Lord:
23 就如上主的法律上所記載的：『凡開胎首生的男性，應祝聖於上主。』
23As it is written in the law of the Lord: Every male opening the womb
shall be called holy to the Lord:
24 並該照上主法律上所吩咐的，獻上祭物：一對斑鳩或兩隻鶵鴿。
24 And to offer a sacrifice, according as it is written in the law
of the Lord, a pair of turtledoves, or two young pigeons:
25 那時，在耶路撒冷有一個人，名叫西默盎。這人正義虔誠，期待著以色列的安慰，
而且聖神也在他身上。
25 And behold there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, and
this man was just and devout, waiting for the consolation of
Israel; and the Holy Ghost was in him.
26 他曾蒙聖神啟示：自己在未看見上主的受傅者以前，決見不到死亡。
26 And he had received an answer from the Holy Ghost, that he should
not see death, before he had seen the Christ of the Lord.
27 他因聖神的感動，進了聖殿；那時，抱著嬰孩耶穌的父母正進來，要按著法律
的慣例為他行禮。
27 And he came by the Spirit into the temple. And when his parents
brought in the child Jesus, to do for him according to the custom
of the law,
28 西默盎就雙臂接過他來，讚美天主說：
28 He also took him into his arms, and
blessed God, and said:
29「主啊！現在可照你的話，放你的僕人平安去了！
29 Now thou dost dismiss thy servant,
O Lord, according to thy word in peace;
30 因為我親眼看見了你的救援，
30 Because my eyes have seen thy salvation,
31 即你在萬民之前早準備好的：
31 Which thou hast prepared before the face of
all peoples:
32 為作啟示異邦的光明，你百姓以色列的榮耀。」
32 A light to the revelation of
the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel.
33 他的父親和母親就驚異他關於耶穌所說的這些話。
33 And his father and mother were wondering at those things
which were spoken concerning him.
34 西默盎祝福了他們，又向他的母親瑪利亞說：「看，這孩子已被立定，
為使以色列中許多人跌倒和復起，並成為反對的記號──
34 And Simeon blessed them, and said to Mary his mother:
Behold this child is set for the fall, and for the
resurrection of many in Israel, and for a sign
which shall be contradicted;
35 至於你，要有一把利劍剌透你的心靈──為叫許多人心中的思念顯露出來。」
35 And thy own soul a sword shall pierce, that, out of many hearts,
thoughts may be revealed.
