For a team that clinches homecourt throughout the playoffs early on, the end
of the regular season can occasionally seem a bit pointless.
對一個已經取得季後賽主場優勢的球隊來說，剩餘的例行賽似乎是無關緊要了。

So Celtics coach Doc Rivers, faced with what is expected to be a long playoff
run, will try to be judicious when doling out minutes to his aging stars in
the Celtics’ four remaining regular-season games.
因此，面對即將到來的漫長季後賽，河流大作出明智的決定：剩下的四場比賽
將會減少這幾個”年邁”先發球員的上場時間。

But the results - however irrelevant they may be now that homecourt advantage
has been wrapped up - can be aggravatingly inconsistent.
The bench won the game Tuesday in Milwaukee, and the starters were on the
floor when Washington made its big move Wednesday, beating the C’s for the
third time in four tries this season.
但是不管比賽再怎麼樣無關緊要，都可能會有意料之外的情形發生：
板凳球員在週二贏了公鹿，然而先發球員卻在週三輸給了巫師，這是本季四戰以來對他們
的第三場敗仗。

Sometimes all a veteran wants is for the playoffs to start, to fast forward
to the games that really count.
Still, an exhausted Paul Pierce [stats] stretched out in front of his locker
Wednesday night with huge ice packs taped to each knee and chose to stay
focused on the present rather than look toward the C’s playoff future.
對大部分的老將來說，他們只希望趕快進入季後賽，打真正”重要的”比賽。
然而，累壞的PP還是選擇將焦點放在目前的每場比賽，而非季後賽。

“As a player you always just want to get into the postseason,” the Celtics
captain said. “But it’s all a process, and Doc has been pretty good about
getting us to stick to the process all year, never looking further than the
next game. And that’s what we have to keep doing.”
「身為一個球員最希望的當然是打季後賽，」PP說，「但這是一個必經的過程，
河流很清楚怎樣帶領我們打完整個球季，就是不要去想下一場比賽之後的事。這也是
我們要繼續作的事」

With Milwaukee coming into TD Banknorth Garden tonight for its second game
against the Celts in four days, there are still things the C’s need to
tighten up, evidenced by their lackluster performance against the Wizards.
今晚超賽將在四天內再度迎戰公鹿，而且必須認真以對，來洗雪昨晚不光彩
的表現。

“We just have to try and stay sharp, man,” Pierce said of his goal for the
last four regular-season games. “We have to stay mentally in tune with the
big games that are coming up. We can’t get lackadaisical or complacent until
then.”
「我們一定要一直保持最佳狀況啊!!」PP對剩下的四戰說出他的想法，「我們
必須想法一致地面對即將來臨的重要比賽，直到完成目標前都不應該懶散或是自滿。」

One thing is certain. If any Celtics are guilty of those sins during the next
week, Tony Allen won’t be one of them.
As a player who has been put on notice by Rivers that he has to start playing
better - with his spot in the playoff rotation possibly at stake - the
Celtics guard is operating under a microscope.
假如有任何超賽球員因此而感到愧疚，無庸置疑的，TA不會是其中一個。
因為河流大的關注，TA必須打得更好才行 —且他在季後賽的位置可能岌岌可危—

Allen’s defense against Bucks star Michael Redd Tuesday fell short. James
Posey took over the assignment in overtime and was in place when Redd missed
a crucial shot at the end of the game. Allen, on the other hand, was the
defender of record when Redd tied the game with an overtime-inducing
3-pointer.
TA上一場防守公鹿Redd的表現不太妙，他讓Redd在第四節結束前投進一顆
追平三分球。還好波西在延長賽適時跳出來守住勝利。

Allen’s biggest problem is that he is far too hard on himself, causing him
to press in these situations.
TA最大的問題是在於他對自己太嚴格了，是他把自己逼到這樣的處境。

“That was like a playoff-type, practice-type atmosphere,” he said of the
Milwaukee game, when Rivers left his reserves on the floor to pull the game
out. “It’s big to see how we react in those situations.”
Unfortunately for Allen, staying grounded became a problem once Redd started
pump-faking.
「這氣氛就像是在季後賽，」TA談到河流上場比賽把替補球員留在場上打完
延長賽，「我們如何面對這樣的緊繃狀況將是季後賽的關鍵。」
可惜的是TA最後還是沒有守住Redd。

“I had a lot of assignments that I fouled up on,” Allen said. “I have to
try and stay on my feet. I have to use this time to get the coaches’
 confidence back.”
Thanks to the schedule makers, Allen gets a chance for redemption tonight.
「我知道我搞砸了很多次，但我必須振作，今晚一定好好表現讓教練
恢復對我的信心。」　
感謝安排賽程的人，讓TA還有機會在今天晚上將功贖罪。
