Around the parquet for Tuesday: One last breather

The Celtics took today off from practice (and will not have a morning
shootaround before tomorrow’s regular season finale against the Nets) in
what may be their final break before the playoffs start this weekend.

Celtics今天休兵沒練習(明天對籃網的季賽最後一場前也不會有練習)，這是週末季後
賽開始前的最後一段休息時間。

In other words, Kevin Garnett, Sam Cassell and the rest of the veterans should
enjoy watching Gino on the Jumbotron tomorrow night because it will probably
be the last time they are that relaxed that late in a game for the rest of the
season no matter what the score.

換句話說，KG、Cassell還有其他的老鳥應該好好享受明天的Gino on the Jumbotron
(主場大勝會放的一段影片)，因為這可能是最後一次不管比數如何，他們還能輕鬆地在
球季剩下的比賽快結束時休息。

As the playoffs (finally) approach, here are a few issues to chew on. …

當季後賽(終於)接近，有些議題可以好好想想。

The rotation: Doc Rivers said Friday night that he had pretty much decided the
playoff rotation, though he wouldn’t reveal it to the media or the players.
Of course, not revealing it gives him license to change it without admitting
to that. But for now we can give him the benefit that he has determined the
bench priority list.

陣容輪替：Doc Rivers禮拜五說儘管不會告訴媒體，不過他差不多決定季後賽的輪替了。
當然，不用告訴媒體，讓他有機會更改而不必承認。但是至少現在我們可以給他一些肯定
，因為他已經決定板凳的的優先順序了。

In the frontcourt, Leon Powe would appear to have secured the role as the first
big man (a relative term) off the bench with a combination of Glen Davis and
P.J. Brown to follow based on matchups. If Kendrick Perkins were to get in
foul trouble early (something that hasn’t happened nearly as much as expected
this season) then Brown could get the nod. In a regular rotation, Davis would
likely get more time as Rivers has already left open the possibility that
Brown will do a lot of bench and practice mentoring during the postseason.

在前場，李阿砲明顯地站穩了他身為板凳第一長人(相較於他人)的角色，而Glen Davis
和P.J. Brown會依據對手決定誰上。如果Perkins早早陷入犯規麻煩(本季發生的機會不
如預期的多)，Brown就會上。在正常的輪替中，Davis可能會多得到一點時間，因為
Rivers已經給予Brown在季後賽會坐很多板凳，但是擔任練習的導師角色的可能性。

Overall, it will likely be more matchup based and that favors Davis getting
an extra few minutes early on against a Hawks team that will likely play small,
young and athletic. Brown could see more time against Cleveland in Round 2,
though he might not play at all against the Wizards.

總之，這可能會依據對手決定，所以Davis在對上老鷹時可能會多點時間，因為他們比較
小陣容，年輕而且體能勁爆。Brown在第二輪對上騎士可能會多一點時間，但是對上巫師
可能根本不會上。

In the fourth quarter, while some may disagree, a frontcourt of Garnett and
James Posey is still most likely in a close game.

在第四節，儘管一些人可能不同意，但是在比數接近時KG和James Posey的前場比較可能
出現。

In the backcourt, it will be interesting to see how far Sam Cassell has forged
himself into the plans based on his play of the past two games. Rivers said
play in the last week wouldn’t affect his rotations much, but he had to be
getting a little concerned with Cassell’s inability to assimilate into the
lineup because of a combination of lack of practices, a minor back injury and
Eddie House’s strong play at the point. But with House out the past two games,
Cassell has seized his chance while House’s unit had trouble holding the
starters’ leads in recent games.

在後場，基於Sam Cassell過去兩場比賽的表現，要看他在計畫中會佔多大地位是很有趣
的。Rivers說上個禮拜的表現不會影響他的輪替太多，但是他必須關心一下Cassell因為
缺乏練習、輕微的背傷、還有Eddie House在控衛的好表現，使他不太能融入陣容。但是
後來House缺席了兩場比賽，Cassell抓住了他的機會，因為House最近上場的時候，無法
維持住先發帶來的領先分數。

Both figure to get a lot of time in the playoffs, though Cassell could see
more time as the traditional backup point guard, while House is used in spurts
to provide instant offense and spread the floor when Rivers wants to get
Garnett one-on-one matchups in the paint and make opponents pay dearly with a
double team (House, Ray Allen, Paul Pierce and/or James Posey out beyond the
arc).

兩者在季後賽都會得到很多時間，儘管Cassell身為傳統的替補控衛，可能會多一點機會
，但是當Rivers想要給Garnett些一對一單打機會，並且讓對手在包夾他時付出致命代價
時，House可以用來提供一些即時火力，為KG清開一點空間。(House、Ray Allen、Pierce
還有/或是James Posey都有三分能力)

Posey will get his 20 to 25 minutes in what will be a more meaningful role -
not necessarily in terms of minutes, but definitely in terms of impact - in
the playoffs and will continue to shoot his 3s (Does he take any other shots
anymore?).

Posey在季後賽可以得到20到25分鐘很有意義的角色-不是以時間論，而絕對是以影響力
來說-並且會繼續射他的三分(他還有使用其他種出手嗎？)

The wild card remains Tony Allen. Though Allen has played better of late, he
continues to play well when handed 30 minutes a night and not so well when
forced to play in three- to five-minute spurts of a traditional backup shooting
guard. He remains the team’s best defensive option against the types of bigger
guards that have given the Celtics trouble this season, but if Rivers feels he
cannot trust him not to make mistakes in the playoffs his time could be more
limited than the coach would have liked.

Tony Allen仍然是外卡。儘管TA最近打的比較好，他仍然在被給予30分鐘機會時打的比
較好，若只有3到5分鐘機會時打的沒那麼好，但是後者才是傳統替補得分後衛的角色。
球隊對於大隻的後衛本季一直有些困擾，而他仍然是最好的防守選擇，但是如果Rivers
不相信在季後賽他不會犯錯的話，他的時間可能會被減少到教練想要的程度。

The bench struggled in the games leading up to this weekend before breaking
through with close-out efforts against the Bucks, Hawks and Knicks. Yet, as
Cassell noted Friday night, the bench play has been a bit of a false story in
recent weeks since in the playoffs a combination of Garnett, Pierce and Ray
Allen will still be on the court at all times in a close contest.

板凳群在這個禮拜前有些掙扎，直到Bucks、Hawks、Knicks的比賽末段有些突破。但是
就像Cassell禮拜五晚上說的，板凳的表現比較像是個假議題，因為在季後賽裡比數接近
時，三巨頭一定都會待在場上的。
