Celtics offer thanks to Atlanta for exhibition games

BOSTON, MA — In a class move by a class franchise, the entire Boston Celtics
organization held a press conference early Thursday to thank the Atlanta Hawks
for the past two practice games between the teams in Boston. 

傳統勁旅的經典舉動，波士頓 Celtics球團星期四早上舉行一場記者會，感謝亞特蘭
大老鷹隊參加過去兩場跟他們在主場的練習賽。

“We just want to show our gratitude to the Atlanta Hawks, easily the best
semi-pro team in America,” said Danny Ainge, Director of Basketball Operations
for the Celtics. “It’s just great of them to get together and play those two
exhibition games against us. I think I can speak for the rest of the team when
I say that we’re ready for the NBA playoffs now.” 

“我們只是想表達我們對老鷹隊的感激，絕對是全美最好的半職業球隊。” Celtics
球隊營運總裁 Danny Ainge說”他們能夠聚在一起，跟我們打兩場練習賽真是太好了

Forward Kevin Garnett admitted to SSNN that he was skeptical about the games
going in, but now he’s convinced it was the right move. 

前鋒 Kevin Garnett向SSNN說，在開始比賽前他是有點疑慮的，但是現在他認為這是
一個正確的選擇。

“At first I was like, ‘Why are we playing a community college team?’ I
didn’t want to waste energy right before the playoffs,” KG said. “But then
I thought about it, and we did kind of slack off this year. We lost like 20
games this season, and that’s very unbecoming for any Boston team. We needed
the practice.”

“一開始我像是’我們幹嘛跟個社區大學球隊比賽呢？’我不想在季後賽前浪費任何
精力”KG說”但是後來我仔細想想，今年我們的確有點偷懶。這季我們大概輸了20場
球，這對任何波士頓球來說，都是很不得體的。我們需要練習。”

The Celtics spent quite a bit of the press conference praising the Hawks for
their high level of play. Head coach Doc Rivers said that many of the Atlanta
players, with a few more years of practice, might very well find a place on a
legitimate NBA squad. 

Celtics花了一段時間在記者會裡稱讚老鷹隊高水準的比賽。教練 Doc Rivers說，好
幾個老鷹隊的球員，再多幾年練習，也許非常有可能會在一支適合的 NBA球隊有一席
之地。

Paul Pierce, on the other hand, couldn’t get over the fact that Mike Bibby
was a member of the Hawks team. 

另一方面，Paul Pierce還是不能理解Mike Bibby是老鷹隊的一員。

“I was shocked to see Bibby playing for them – I remember when that guy was
in the NBA,” Pierce said. “And man, has his game deteriorated. No wonder he
can’t catch on with a professional team.”

的太多了，難怪他沒辦法為職業球隊打球了。”

Ainge added that the Celtics are already in talks with the Hawks about
returning the favor and coming to Atlanta for a couple of exhibition games,
possibly as soon as this weekend. The main concern is that while Atlanta
boasts a first-class mid-major college level team, they’ve had trouble getting
fans to their games. 

Ainge補充說Celtics已經跟老鷹隊討論過，為了要還禮，將會去亞特蘭大打幾場練習
賽，最快可能就在這個週末。主要的考量是儘管老鷹隊自稱是支第一級的主要大學層
級球隊，他們在吸引觀眾去看球上有點困難。

“We’ve got a lot of time to kill before the NBA Finals, so we’ve got to
occupy our time somehow,” Ainge said. “I can’t think of a better way to
spend that time than by thrashing the Hawks a few more times.”

“我們在NBA決賽之前有很多時間要殺，所以我們總得找些事來填滿時間。”Ainge說
”我沒辦法想到一個比再多宰掉老鷹幾次更好的辦法。”
