Pair’s added time on pine not sitting well

Two games into the playoffs Tony Allen and Eddie House have found themselves
nudged to the end of the Celtics bench, and they are far from pleased with
being non-factors in the blowout wins over the Atlanta Hawks.

季後賽打了兩場，Tony Allen和 Eddie House發現自己悄悄地坐進了板凳的末端，在

Veteran guard House played only 4:49 in Sunday’s 104-81 Game 1 pounding and
scored three points, then saw his playing time fall to just 3:03 in
Wednesday’s 96-77 win. Allen, meanwhile, played 9:14 and scored five points
in Game 1 but went scoreless in only 2:25 in Game 2.

老鳥後衛House只在禮拜天的第一場比賽打了4分49秒得三分，然後到了第二場上場時

Both players have been left scratching their heads about the diminished playing
time and said coach Doc Rivers hasn’t told them anything about why they
haven’t figured into the mix.

兩個球員都搔了搔頭，不太了解自己被削減的上場時間，而且說教練Doc Rivers沒跟
他們說為什麼被排除在組合之外。

“I ain’t happy with it but what it’s about is doing it for the team,” said
Allen, who averaged 18.3 minutes per game during the regular season. “I’m
still cheering on the sidelines and being ready. I’m still clapping hands,
passing out water, throwing towels, jumping up for my teammates for something
good, just basically trying to stay loose for whenever he calls me to go out
there.”

House, who has seen his minutes steadily diminish following the acquisition of
point guard Sam Cassell, regrets that he has been relegated to mop-up duty.

House在簽下了控衛Sam Cassell來之後，就看到自己的上場時間穩定地減少，感嘆地
說他現在被用來負責收尾的工作。

“I really haven’t had a role in this series,” he said. “I’ve pretty much
been used for end-of-quarter situations and that’s pretty much it, other than
spelling the guys at the end of the game, when we’re up by 20.”

“我在這個系列中真的沒有扮演什麼角色。”他說”我大概都被用在單節快要結束的

Both players said they don’t believe their added time on the bench has
anything to do with how the C’s match up with the Hawks.

“I definitely don’t think it’s a matchup thing,” Allen said. “I know I can
compete with those guys. I guess it’s a chemistry thing as opposed to
matchups.”

House, who averaged 19 minutes per game during the season, said he remains
entirely in the dark.

“That’s a question you’ll have to ask Doc,” he said. “I try not to think
about it too much. As a competitor you want to play and you want to get in the
game. If you think about (matchups), it takes away from what you need to be

mentally into the game, even if you’re not physically into the game.”

So where have the minutes gone? Primarily to James Posey and Leon Powe, who
have been called on a bit more in the first two games. Posey has averaged 28.5
minutes after getting 24.6 per game during the regular season, while Powe has
gone from 14.4 during the regular season to 19.0 in the playoffs. Cassell has
averaged 14 minutes in the first-round series, actually down a bit from his
regular-season mark (17.6 with Celtics).

所以那些時間到哪去了？主要是James Posey和Leon Powe，他們在第一場比賽上場時
間多了一點。Posey在季賽平均上場24.6分鐘，前兩場平均28.5分鐘， Powe在季賽平
均上場14.4分鐘，在季後賽則是19.0分鐘。 Cassell在第一輪平均上場14分鐘，其實
是比他的季賽平均(在Celtics時平均17.6分鐘)略低一點。

But House knows he must remain focused in case Rivers decides to increase his
minutes.

但是House知道他必須要保持專注，為了Rivers決定要增加他時間的需要。

“I’m not sure if they are, but things can change and I’ve got to be prepared
and ready to step in and contribute, like I did all year,” he said.

“我不知道會不會，但是事情是會改變的。我必須要準備好上場，作出貢獻，就像我
整年都在作的。”他說。

Late in the season Rivers challenged Allen to step up his game, and the
swingman admitted he hasn’t been able to consistently do so.

在球季尾聲的時候，Rivers曾經挑戰 Allen要他在比賽中站出來，而這個搖擺人承認
他沒辦法很持續地作到。

“Some times have been better than others but I can’t say I’ve played to his
standards,” Allen said. “But it’s a long way to go. If the series goes to
Game 7 - and I hope it doesn’t - I have to be ready.”

“有時候比較好，但是我不能持續保持在他的標準之上。”他說”但是還有條很長的
路要走，如果這個系列戰打到第七場-我希望不要-我必須要做好準備。”
