Gary Payton spoke up yesterday about his thoughts on the 7-10 Celtics.
"I think [coach Doc Rivers] is trying to make these kids grow up, and
right now it's not working. I think I need to be in more control. It's
going to have to happen. I'm not going to keep losing games like this.
I don't like it, and I know no one else does either. We've got to make
changes to our style of play. It's not changes to personnel or anything.
We've got a good team. We're in games all the time. It's just that
we've got to learn how to finish." Payton said he wasn't speaking out
of frustration, but observation, which included some thoughts on Paul
Pierce becoming more of a team player. GP is probably correct, but this
situation should keep us entertained for a few days, and might even
lead to some West Coast trade rumors.
