Chelsea striker could not avoid knee operation

Didier Drogba has revealed he will have surgery on his troublesome knee this
weekend.
獸巴公布他有問題的膝蓋本週末會開刀


The Chelsea striker has been struggling with the problem for some time and
Avram Grant announced this week he may have to undergo an operation.
獸巴已經為這個問題困擾一陣了，而格蘭特本週公布獸巴也許需要手術


There had been speculation that Chelsea would delay the surgery so that
Drogba could play in next Sunday's crucial game against Arsenal with the aid
of painkilling injections.
有猜測說切爾西會延後手術，這樣獸巴可以在下星期日對阿森納的重要比賽中打止痛劑
上陣。

However, Drogba is desperate to turn out in the African Cup of Nations for
Ivory Coast and is aiming to give himself enough time to recover.
然而，獸巴非常渴望可以在非洲盃為象牙海岸上場，而且要給自已足夠的時間復原


It therefore appears likely that Drogba will not be able to play again for
Chelsea until Ivory Coast's exit from the African Cup of Nations, leaving
Grant without his main striker.
因此，情況可能會變成獸巴要直到象牙海岸在非洲盃出局才能為切爾西上場，讓格蘭特
少了主要射手


"I will undergo surgery on Saturday in London, by professor Andy Williams,"
Drogba told L'Equipe.
獸巴跟隊報講:我會在週六在倫敦由Andy Williams教授動手術。


"I took my time before making the decision, because I wanted different
opinions and listen to specialists. Surgery was unavoidable.
我花了一些時間來做這個決定，因為我希望聽到不同意見，以及聽一些專家的建議。手術

"Between me and the club there is never any trouble. I could not walk
normally anymore, my knee was locked.

"We just had to find an agreement. The club didn't want to put me in danger.

"Everyone knows it is out of the question to prevent me from playing African
Cup of Nations.

"My unavailability will be between one month and five weeks, considering
healing and rehabilitation.
我無法上場的時間會在於一個月及5週之間，把治療及復健時間算進來的話。


"I am very annoyed to miss the series of matches with Chelsea."
對於錯過一些切爾西的比賽，我覺得很煩

DROGBA OPERATION

Sat, 8th Dec 2007


Didier Drogba underwent an operation today on his injured knee.


A statement from Club Doctor Bryan English said; 'Didier's knee locked
yesterday afternoon and the decision was taken to have the operation
immediately in the medical interests of the player.


'The procedure went well and he will begin his rehabilitation as soon as
possible.'
