Anelka seeks Blues switch
Last updated: 2nd January 2008
"The chairmen discuss, I hope that it will be carried out," Anelka told
L'Equipe Magazine in an interview to be published this weekend.
"I especially hope that I qualify for the Champions League. But as long as
the contract is not signed and that I have not been introduced to the
press with my new shirt, nothing is fact."
Anelka also refused to rule out a possible return to Manchester City, with
Sven Goran Eriksson also thought to be keen on signing the French
international.
The 28-year-old admits the lure of playing Eriksson is an attractive
proposition if City make a move for his services.
"I want to play for a prestigious club, which City became with a manager
like Eriksson, who I was already very ready to join in 1999 with Lazio,"
added Anelka.
It is believed that Bolton and Chelsea are struggling to reach an
agreement over the fee for Anelka with the Reebok outfit thought to be
holding out for a price in the region of £19million for the
much-travelled striker.
Anelka admits if no move fails to materialise, he would have no problem
staying at Bolton as he is content at the club.
"To remain in Bolton, where I am happy, would not be a punishment either,"
concluded Anelka.

Megson denies Anelka talk
Last updated: 3rd January 2008
"This speculation has been gathering pace ever since I have been here,"
Megson told Sky Sports. "It is probably understandable and Nic has to deal
with it more than most.
"There has been no contact as far as I am aware. Nobody has rung me,
nobody has rung the board and there has been no offer faxed in.
"Nic has been asked a question, he is put on the spot as he is asked what
it would be like to join a club that plays in Champions League, probably
on big money and the opportunity to play for a fantastic football club and
so what is he supposed to say.
"He did finish that article by saying he was very happy at Bolton and it
would not be the worse thing in the world [to stay].
"He has not said he did not want to be here and if there is a transfer,
and I am not saying there is going to be one, in this case it has to suit
everybody - the buying club, the selling club and also the player.
"Everyone at Bolton Wanderers wants Nic to stay and at the moment there is
nothing to deal with.
"If somebody actually comes in and there is an offer faxed or written
there is something to discuss and we can discuss it, but at the moment we
are just discussing things that are flying about in the press."
