It was all smiles following Saturday's win at the Riverside, and praise in
particular for Alex's spectacular long-range drive that sewed the game up.

The overall performance was also cause for pleasure, and Cech was happy not
to have been called into action too much.

'We scored an early goal, they could have equalised, it was their only chance
and they didn't take it,' he recalled, discussing his save from a glancing
Mido header.

Joe Cole believes the key was Didier Drogba's early goal.

reasoned.

Cole suggests that the side has now turned a corner following September's

'We're looking forward now,' he emphasised. 'Arsenal and Liverpool won, but

We can't afford slip ups now and we need a great run. We've done it today

capable of it.'

Group B of the Champions League on Wednesday coming first, and Cole
recognises the significance of three points.
