Hospital visit for Christmas

The London residents contingent of the Chelsea squad visited child
cancer sufferers at University College Hospital this week in support of
CLIC-Sargent, Chelsea's official charity.
On the day that over ￡100,000 was raised for CLIC-Sargent in auction
at the Chelsea Legends dinner, the teenage and infant wards were visited
where presents from the Chelsea Megastore were handed out by the players.
Hernan Crespo is pictured with one of the youngest patients whose
parents were lovingly looking on. Also there were Asier Del Horno, Claude
Makelele, Ricardo Carvalho, Frank Lampard, William Gallas, Geremi, Lassana
Diarra and Paulo Ferreira.

Before the players met the patients they were addressed by members of
CLIC-Sargent about the importance of their visit and the excitement of the
youngsters anticipating seeing them. Visited was one 13 year old birthday
boy plus Arsenal, Liverpool and West Ham supporters and a boy in a
Juventus shirt. There was lots of football banter and a stimulating hour
for both the players and the patients.
