Jose reveals Arsene regret
Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted his regret at becoming embroiled
in a feud with Arsenal counterpart Arsene Wenger.
Relations between the pair have been frosty ever since Wenger was first
labelled a 'voyeur' by Mourinho after the Frenchman appeared all too ready to
offer up his opinion on the Premiership champions.
Despite calls from the League Managers' Association to call a halt to
hostilities, last week's refusal to shake hands after their teams clashed at
Highbury highlighted a lingering animosity between the respective bosses.
But it is a feud that Mourinho admits was avoidable and he now hopes to
bury the hatchet with his long-term rival.
Asked if he had any regrets over the past 12 months the Portuguese, in an
interview with FHM, responded: "
For sure. I can say, for example, this
situation with Arsene.
"
I do not want to hurt him like I did.
"
If I could go back, I would say 'Hey it's time to stop speaking about
Chelsea, go to your corner and speak about your team'.
"
But I wouldn't say what I said about him that hurt him.
"
I didn't intend that. If I could go back and change it then I would."
