Former Chelsea, Cagliari and Parma playmaker Zola announced his retirement from the playing side at the end of last season but is willing to remain in the game in a hands-off role. "Zola is the symbol of sportsmanship and exemplary behaviour as a champion and as a family man," said Luigi Agnolin, president of the youth section of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC). "He has exported our best football and values abroad and he is a man that, on the pitch, has always accepted with calmness any type of refereeing decision whether it was with his clubs or while playing with the national team. "I went to see him in Cagliari and he has gladly accepted this new role. "He will travel all over Italy to spread the word of football to youngsters." Zola was last year awarded the Order of the British Empire and is also a knight of the Italian Republic. -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 59.121.211.64
