Terry: Chelsea's biggest test
By Chris Stanton - Created on 26 Nov 2006
John Terry insists Chelsea are poised for their biggest test since they
first became Premiership champions 18 months ago.
"This is the biggest challenge we've faced since we became champions,"
said Terry. "We've shown over the last two years that we are a very good
side. We have demonstrated that consistently week-in, week-out.
"But Manchester United have put down the marker this season and they
undoubtedly have the edge over us going into this game.
"I can assure you it's not nice looking at the table at the moment. I'm
used to seeing Chelsea top and there we are lying second to United. All
credit to them, they are up for the challenge."
The visitors would pull level with United with a win, and Terry revealed
that is his team's chief objective.
"This time last year, we were around 13 points in front of them but this
season they have not let us pull away early on and they are the ones we're
chasing," added Terry.
"We're playing catch up and the only way we're going to do that is to beat
them today [Sunday]. And believe me we are fired up and raring to go."
