Chelsea Football Club Chairman Bruce Buck (pictured) reaffirmed the club's
commitment to helping the development of Asian football in China yesterday
(Tuesday).

Buck was speaking at the first International Football Arena Beijing in the
Chinese capital. The IFA is the leading independent international forum of
the football industry.

Over the last few years it has established itself as the foremost debating
arena for the major issues and developments in football.Chelsea is one of the
partners of IFA Beijing which is seeking to furtherrelationships between
Asian football and Europe.

Buck was speaking at a panel session, 'European clubs in China: Invest or
Harvest' that also included representatives from Barcelona and Bayern Munich.

He confirmed that Chelsea would be preparing our pre-season in the summer of
2008 in China. The exact dates are yet to be confirmed.

Buck explained our approach to the Chinese market which includes unique and
exclusive co-operation agreements with the Asian Football Confederation (AFC)
and the Chinese Football Association (CFA) to promote grass roots and youth
football.

'Our approach is based on something in addition to just doing club tours,'
said Buck.

'This is consistent with our general club approach and that of our owner
Roman Abramovich, who believes an important part of our mandate in football
is to do a lot of good for football generally.

'Of course there is also a business objective with such an important market
as Asia and in particular China.

'We can invest and harvest. We're not sure when we're going to harvest and
what we're going to harvest.

'At the moment we're just trying to build up general awareness, not just
brand awareness, and play a role in keeping kids off the streets by playing
football, increase participation and encourage a healthier lifestyle.'

不再在街上無所事事，增大參與率，鼓勵健康的生活方式。"
The relationship with the AFC, the equivalent of UEFA in Asia, is a key one
and Buck emphasised that Chelsea would not jeopardise that relationship.
同亞足聯（就想當于歐足聯一樣）之間的關係是很關鍵的，巴克強調說切爾西決不會冒險
去破壞他們之間的關係。
'For one thing we're not going to take our club to Asia when the Asian Cup
(the equivalent of the European Championships) is taking place. That's lesson
No. 1.'
