THE SPECIAL ONE'S SPECIAL GAME

They say first love never dies and on Saturday, Jose Mourinho will
rekindle affections for a famous occasion that helped him first fall for
the game he made his life.
有人說初戀的感覺永遠難以忘懷，週六，莫里尼奧將重新點燃幫助他在生命中第一次
墜入愛河的好機會。
As prepares to attend his maiden FA Cup Final, with of course the sole
intention of winning the iconic trophy for the first time, the Chelsea
manager has been looking back to the past as well as forward to the
weekend.
在備戰首次足總盃決賽時，帶著第一次奪冠的必然唯一的目標，切爾西的主教練回首
了過去，也展望了這個週末。
'I am not English but for me it means a lot,' he announces. 'It means I
remember my youth where I was of course in love with the game and there
were a few trophies I always dream to win, a few matches I always dream to
participate in. And the FA Cup Final was one of them. And for my players,
the meaning is not different.
“我不是英國人，但對我來說這意味著很多，”他說，“這意味著我記得我的青年時
代，那時我當然愛上了比賽，有一些我一直夢想得到的獎盃，有一些我夢想參加的比

'As a kid, you look more to finals than to whole competitions. I don't
think you dream about winning competitions, you are more focused on some
matches. For me the matches were the Portuguese Cup Final, because that
had a lot of meaning for us; the English Cup Final because it was the game
everybody was waiting all year in the country to watch on TV; not the
Champions League at the time but the old European Cup and the World Cup
Final.
“當你還是一個孩子的時候，你期望決賽更勝於期待整個賽事。我不認為你應該夢想
贏得整個賽事，你應該更多的關注一些比賽。對我來說，那些比賽就是葡萄牙盃決賽
，因為那對我們意味著很多；那是英格蘭的盃賽決賽，因為那是這個國家的所有人等
待了一年之後要在電視上看到的比賽；現在不是冠軍聯賽，而是舊的歐洲冠軍盃決賽
和世界盃決賽。”
'So if I can realise this dream to be in this game and if possible, to win
it, it would be fantastic.'
“所以如果我能讓這個夢想成為現實，參加這場比賽，如果可能的話，贏得這場比賽
的話，這簡直太棒了。”
Mourinho's reminiscing continues with recollections of sitting down on FA
Cup Final day in front of the television with his family. His thoughts
mirrored those of many a child over in England in days of minimal live TV
coverage.
莫里尼奧的回憶繼續，他回憶了與家人坐在一起在電視機前觀看足總盃決賽的情景。

'We always wanted a draw because we always wanted a second game. The other
thing was the feeling that the small team always could win it. In
Portugal, if you have a final of say Porto against a small team, nobody
believes the small team can win.

這個比賽的感覺。在葡萄牙，如果你有一場波爾圖與一支小球隊的決賽，沒有人相信

'I remember in one FA Cup Final, Coventry playing and winning it and it
was great stuff. We were always in doubt who was going to win, supporting
always the small team and if somebody was winning, we wanted somebody to
equalise because we wanted the second game. The atmosphere was
unbelievable, even by TV.'
“我記得一次足總盃決賽，考文垂踢了那場比賽，而且贏了，這是個好家伙。我們總
是拿不準誰能贏，我們總是在支持小的球隊，如果有人領先，我們想有人能扳平，因
為我們要看到第二場比賽。氣氛難以置信，即使是在電視機前。”
Now Mourinho has the chance to play an active role in the match he grew up
watching and he vows to do his bit to make it a memorable one,
particularly on the occasion of such a significant Final.
現在，莫里尼奧有機會在伴隨他成長起來的比賽中扮演主動的角色，他發誓盡自己的
努力讓它成為一場難忘的比賽，特別是在這樣一場重要的決賽中。
'Saturday as an event will always be special as a cultural and social
event with the fact that it is new Wembley and the fact it is 90,000
tickets but I think if it is 180,000 it would be sold out the same. Now I
think it is up to us - managers, players, the referee, to make it a sport
event also to remember.
“週六是一個大事，作為一件文化和社會上的大事，將一如既往的特別，這是在新溫
布利的比賽，賣出了9萬張門票，不過我認為如果有18萬張的話，同樣會賣完。現在

'The players can help the ref to have an easy job and Mr. Bennett can
communicate with the players to make the game in a good atmosphere and if
we can put out teams with an attacking and positive spirit, we can make
the game a final that new Wembley deserves.
“球員們可以幫助主裁判輕鬆的完成工作，而本內特先生可以與球員們交流以讓比賽
在一種良好的氣氛中進行，如果我們能呈現出一支帶著進攻和積極精神的球隊的話，
我們可以讓比賽成為一場新溫布利當之無愧的決賽。”
'That is the message I am passing to my players. Play with happiness, play
with an open heart and really enjoy the Final and I believe the other
side, their feelings can be very similar to ours.'

場決賽，我相信另外一支球隊，他們的感覺將和我們非常相似。”
