RIGHT-BACKS DISCUSSED AS MAN U LOSE NEVILLE

Chelsea's FA Cup opponents will be without their captain and first choice
right-back on Saturday.

Man United's slim hopes that Gary Neville would return from the injury
that has kept him out since mid-March were dashed with the release of a
club statement that reads: 'Gary Neville has undergone an exploratory

Our on right-back position has seen many changes this season with five
different players handed starts there. For six out of the last seven games
however, Paulo Ferreira has begun there.

It was a subject broached by assistant manager [and former Blues right-
back] Steve Clarke on his recent appearance on Chelsea TV's Big Match
Countdown.

'It has been a problem position,' he admitted. 'We have tried various

up to a point and then Paulo got another chance and I think he decided he
is going to take it and re-establish himself as the number one right-back.'
