ROBBEN: LEFT WING VIEWS ON FINAL

It may be going a little far to suggest Arjen Robben is a card-carrying
member of a left-wingers union, but Chelsea's flying Dutchman has warned
his team-mates of the threat from that flank during the FA Cup Final.

If Man United line-up as many expect with a central midfield of Michael
Carrick and Paul Scholes, flanked by Cristiano Ronaldo and Ryan Giggs, it
is the ageing Welshman on the left just as much as the much-heralded
Portuguese on the right that our own left-footed flyer believes must be
policed closely.

'I think Ryan Giggs has been one of the most important players for Man
United to win the League,' Robben told Chelsea's official partner Real
Radio London, highlighting Giggs as an example of how fast players can
continue to do damage even when top speed diminishes a little.

'I have big respect for his career. When I was younger and I started to
watch English football a little bit more, I was quite a fan of him. He has
had a great career and even now he is 33, he looks so fit and sharp and as
we have seen, he can still win games for Man U.'

As Robben fights to be fit for Saturday, he can look to Giggs as a player
who has battled through injury problems to collect medals. Having returned
to training on Wednesday as he recovers from a knee operation two months
ago, Chelsea's 23-year-old flyer is hopeful he has a part to play in the
FA Cup pursuit.

'That was my first step after resting following the Liverpool game and it
was okay, I feel quite good,' he said after the first training session. It

to be involved.

with a great atmosphere and that's why we have to show the whole world how
good our game can be.'
