Chelsea and England captain John Terry today underwent surgery on his back
injury.

The 26-year-old has not featured in the Blues' last three Premiership matches,
 in which they have conceded six goals and fallen four points behind leaders
Manchester United.

A club statement tonight read: 'Chelsea Football Club can confirm that today
club captain John Terry underwent successful surgery following his back injury

'The operation took place in France following consultation between the
Chelsea medical department and a leading neurosurgical specialist.

在雀而喜醫療團隊與一群頂尖的神經外科專家討論過後 手術在法國進行

'The operation to remove a sequestrated lumbar intervertebral disc was
successful and everyone at the club wishes John a speedy and full recovery.'

手術後移除了一根腰椎的骨刺 大家希望特裡能夠早日康復


Terry is likely to remain out of action for around a month, according to
medical expert Phil Sheard - who believes Chelsea probably chose surgery for
their lynchpin defender merely to speed his recovery.

特裡手術後需要修養一個月 根據醫療專家說的 雀而喜決定讓特裡動手術  讓特裡早點

'A couple of weeks is the most optimistic. Realistically you are looking at
four to six weeks before he will be back playing football,' the consultant
orthopaedic spinal surgeon told Sky Sports News.

幾週(缺陣)是比較樂觀的說法 實際上需要大約四到六週才能踢球

'In most cases, these will get better by themselves. But we quite frequently
 do operations so that we can get people back to work quickly - and I think
that is what has happened here.'

一般情形下 這種傷會自行痊癒 但是我們常常做這種手術 以便讓球員盡快回到工作崗位
