Three points is the only statistic that interests Jose Mourinho as Chelsea head
into the Middlesbrough game, despite his team standing poised to pass a
milestone.
If the Blues avoid defeat at Stamford Bridge on Saturday afternoon, nothing can
stop a run of three years without a Premiership home defeat being established.

echoes the only-a-win-will-do mentality but still takes pride in helping
to have created Fortress Stamford Bridge.
'If you consider you have to play Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U, these teams every
season at home, not to mention all the others, it shows our strength in front
of our own fans,' he said, speaking to chelseafc.com.

the ones we had, and we have done that so far with Charlton,' Lampard adds.
'This weekend, you feel Man United will probably win as well but at least we
must keep that pressure on and show that we are in good form. That will give
us confidence to take into the cup games.'
Man United entertain Charlton at home at the same time we host Middlesbrough -
a side whose record against Chelsea at the Bridge is immensely inferior to
the one on their home patch - including their 2-1 win at the Riverside in
August.

'We had that game in our hands,' recalls Mourinho. 'We were winning 1-0, we
sat back, we didn't want to control the game.'
Lampard agrees: 'It was a very disappointing game for us, as was last season

'I think there are a lot of reasons for motivation on Saturday. One is that we
want to put that defeat right and also the fact that we can't afford not to win
games at the moment.
'Middlesbrough are the kind of team that can threaten the top sides and the
reason is they have good strikers who can score goals. Powerful strikers
like they have will always be able to hurt top teams and that is
something we will have to watch.'

Preparations for the game, even by international week standards, have been
curtailed with several players hampered in their returns from abroad by
the weather conditions.

Thursday afternoon and Mourinho further reports:

[the England national team] made a good decision for everybody to send him
back so he could have treatment immediately for his little problem. This
