A result that makes Chelsea strong favourites to progress, an Andriy Shevchenko
display that delighted him but two more players injured. It was a night of
mixed emotions for Jos? Mourinho.

一個足夠讓切爾西在晉級的目標上滿意的結局，舍瓦的表現讓穆帥欣喜然而又有兩名球員
受傷了，對他來說真是頗為複雜的一個夜晚.


In a whirlwind start to his latest return to the club he made European
champions, he had seen his recently restored captain go lame, his team go
behind in the tie and then equalise in fine style - and then before the
second-half could even begin, he made the decision to add Arjen Robben to the
casualty list.

英雄般的榮歸他曾經帶領獲得歐洲冠軍的隊伍，他目睹了剛剛傷癒的隊長一瘸一拐的樣子

Despite all that, the Chelsea manager was maintaining an even keel after the
game.

injury was inevitably the first subject raised.

back because we have no choice.'

On recent performances, there could be worse fates than falling back on the
young Ghanaian but it's the knock-on effect that Mourinho regrets.

'I think Essien is one of the most in-form players at Chelsea. In midfield he
is almost unstoppable because of his power and now he is playing central
defence again. So we do not have an easy situation.

'Robben's injury was the consequence of not being warm,' Mourinho believed, the

'My original change when John Terry got injured was Mikel. But because we then
conceded a goal, I decided to go with Robben. He went directly to the pitch
because we were playing with ten men already for a long time, and we had

上。他直接跑進了球場（沒有熱身）因為我們已經十人抵擋了很長時間，少一人並且比

I don't think the his injury is a big thing. At half-time he was saying he felt
he could try to continue but I decided no because I lose so many players, I
don't want to lose one more for a long time.'

"我不認為他的傷很嚴重，半場時候他說他覺得自己能堅持，但我決定不讓他冒險因為我
損失了太多球員了。我不希望再丟失任何一個。"


At that point in the post-match discussion, Mourinho suddenly revealed another
aliment that had struck the dressing room.

'I thought this morning that Frank Lampard could not play the game because he
was feeling completely ill. But he is a real top, top professional to react
the way he did and play the game because he was playing in very difficult
circumstances.'

Yet despite all that, Chelsea will start the game at the Bridge in two weeks
all-square and with an away goal under our belt.

'Shevchenko was brilliant, absolutely brilliant,' enthused the boss. 'The goal
was crucial but the work he did was fantastic. His effort to be a team player
and his improvement is amazing and everyone is delighted with the work he is
doing for us.'

"舍瓦毫無疑問非常出色！那個進球至關重要且相當精采。他為融入球隊的努力和進 
步非常驚人。每個人都為舍瓦為我們做的一切而高興！" 


Porto manager Jesualdo Ferreira also believed Sheva's contribution had been
vital to the result.

波爾圖的主教練費雷拉也認為舍瓦的進球決定了比賽結果。


'The game was aggressive in a positive way,' he said. 'Porto were better in the
first-half but the decisive moment was the Chelsea goal when they picked up
confidence.

決定性的時刻來自於切爾西的進球，他們重拾了信心"！


'We had to make changes to try to win because 1-1 is a negative result for us.
But I think Porto as a team will play better in the second game.

第二輪比賽中表現的更好"！


'After we lost JT and Robben, he made a clear decision for Porto to try to
win,' said Mourinho, confirming his counterpart's reading of the game. 'We had
to be pragmatic and try to control the game then and we almost had the

'In the circumstances, we did well. I am not saying 100 per cent we will beat
Porto but we are very confident and in a good situation.'
