Chelsea turn minds to final By John Ley

As the plane carrying Chelsea's contented players crossed the Bay of
Biscay back to Gatwick in the early hours of yesterday morning, thoughts
turned to Sunday and the renewal of rivalries with Arsenal.

Portugal where Andrei Shevchenko's 58th goal in European football earned
them a creditable draw. Importantly, Chelsea produced an intelligent
performance designed to frustrate Porto.

result.

The satisfaction was tinged with disappointment over John Terry leaving on
crutches after damaging the ankle ligaments in his right foot.

"No one wants to lose a player of John's calibre," Lampard said. "He's a
great defender, a big player for us. Your heart does sink, especially
after losing him for so long through another injury and getting him back,
only to lose him again. We all know John and he wouldn't have come off
unless it was a problem. So for him to miss a final he will be
disappointed, to say the least."
