VILLA BOSS BELIEF IN JOSE

He may be in opposition tonight but Aston Villa manager Martin O'Neill has
backed Chelsea to remain in contention for the Premiership, as well as
other competitions this season.

維拉教練奧尼爾竟然鼓勵起了卻爾西.....


'Chelsea are competing for everything. That is what I like about them.
They are going for everything. You would need a bit of luck though,'
O'Neill has told Villa's official website.

 "卻爾西什麼都想贏，這就是我喜歡他們的地方，他們需要一點運氣。"


'Are they capable of winning the title? Yes. Are they capable of winning
the European Cup? Yes.

 "他們有能力能英超嗎？ 有的。 他們有能力贏歐冠嗎？ 有的。"


'Where I do think they have been lucky is that their major players have
stayed fit. Frank Lampard has played 150-odd games consecutively for them
and John Terry is very rarely injured which is why they are missing him
now.'

 "從前他們幸運之處在於主力球員不會受傷，像是連續出賽的蘭帕德，還有特里，或
許這就是他們如此想念特里的原因。"


O'Neill describes Terry as the best centre-half in Europe and says:

奧尼爾稱特里是歐洲最好的中衛。


'Terry has missed very few games up to now and when you have your best
players playing every week, you normally do well.

 "當你最好的球員可以每週出賽，你當然成績出色，可惜特里已經缺席好幾場了。"


'Are Chelsea capable of winning the big four trophies? Absolutely. The day
we played them in the League Cup, you knew that they were going to go at
us as strongly as possible.

 "卻爾西有大滿貫的實力嗎？ 當然有。看他們在卡林盃上電我們的表現就知道了。"


'To turn around and say this is his [Mourinho's] first real test. I
totally disagree with that. He had his first real test the day he stepped
into a new environment in England.

 "有人說這是莫里尼奧第一次大考驗？ 我完全不同意，當他一腳踏進英格蘭時他就
經歷過了。"


'He has gone there and Chelsea have taken the League by storm. Just
because Manchester United are ahead of them, doesn't mean to say he is
under any more pressure.'

 "就算曼聯現在處於榜首，你也不能說莫里尼奧有更多的壓力。"


On tonight's game at Villa Park, O'Neill, who first competed against Jose
Mourinho in the memorable Uefa Cup Final between Porto and Celtic, says:


'Chelsea's competitive streak makes them so hard to beat. What has
happened to them in the last couple of games gives the game more edge.

 "卻爾西的實力讓人難以擊敗，過去幾週的鳥事可能會讓這場比賽更激烈。"


'Our draw at Stamford Bridge earlier this season should give us a bit of a
boost but sometimes it doesn't work out that way.'

 "我們季初在斯坦福橋獲得的平局應該能給我們一點動力，但有時候不管用。"


The result at the Bridge in the Premiership was 1-1 with November's
Carling Cup game a 4-0 win to Chelsea.


As wells as being without their suspended captain Gareth Barry tonight,
Villa will also be without former Chelsea striker Chris Sutton who had
been ruled out for several weeks with concussion.

維拉隊長巴里禁賽，前鋒蘇頓也無法出賽。


Sutton, who joined Villa as an out-of-contract player in October, was
rested for the Carling Cup game.
