Joe Cole: Injury hopes rise

Chelsea assistant manager Steve Clarke has eased fears that Joe Cole
suffered serious knee damage in the game against the MLS All-Stars in
Chicago on Saturday.
The England midfielder was forced to withdraw from the game only seven
minutes after entering the fray at the beginning of the second-half.
Despite the fact Cole was able to walk from the pitch under his own steam,
Jose Mourinho reported afterwards that ligament damage was suspected.
Hopes were raised that the damage was not major when Cole attended the
Blue Day Out at Stamford Bridge on Monday, albeit with the injured knee
bandaged.
Now Clarke has told Chelsea TV: “Joe is okay. He has got the brace off
his leg. He is moving around on his own. He still feels a little pain
which is normal but we are hopeful he will progress very, very quickly.”
