Victory over Liverpool not only brought the possibility of Champions League
income of ￡15m-plus, but won the club an extra ￡500,000 in Premier League
prize money over Liverpool for coming fourth.
Given that we lost the last game of last season to Aston Villa and were
leapfrogged by Leeds into fifth place, thus losing ￡440,000 of prize money,
this has been a big, big pay-back time – providing we win the Champions League
qualifiers.
