Frank Lampard believes he is a better all-round player this season after
picking up the PFA's Fans' Player of the Month award for October.
The Chelsea midfielder has been in splendid form for club and country, and has
managed to hold down a regular place in Claudio Ranieri's side despite
Roman Abramovich's summer spending spree.
"I'm very pleased with the way it's gone this season," he told Sky Sports News.
"I thought last season went well too and I've just carried on from last season
really.
"I feel I'm a more complete player now. I've added other sides to my game,
especially the defensive sides.
"I was more of a run on and score goals player, but now I want to get on the
ball more and take the game by the scruff of the neck."
Lampard still feels other teams could challenge Chelsea, Manchester United and
Arsenal for the Premiership title, despite the outstanding form of the top
trio.
"It's too early to say it's a three-horse race, though it looks like we've
pulled away a little bit," he added.
"But teams like Liverpool and Newcastle could still challenge."
