Joe Cole has this morning received a two match ban and a £15,000 fine
following an F.A. disciplinary hearing.
The punishment relates to an incident after the final whistle last season
when Joe was playing for West Ham against Bolton. As things stand he will miss
our Premiership games against Charlton and Portsmouth over Christmas but
Chelsea have 14 days in which to lodge an appeal.
Club secretary David Barnard, who attended the hearing along with Joe and
Glenn Roeder, who spoke on Joe’s behalf, said: “We will be considering this
option and making a decision during the next 48 hours.”
