Chelsea were the first seeded team pulled out of the hat and we go to
Stuttgart in the first leg of the Champions League knockout stage.
Stuttgart will be looking for revenge, of course, following the 1998
European Cup Winners’ Cup Final when we won 1-0 in Stockholm. We have never
met over two legs.
The first leg is away on Wednesday February 25th.
The second leg at Stamford Bridge is on Tuesday March 9th.
Claudio Ranieri, reacting to the draw this afternoon said: "It is not
easy but I said before the draw that every squad is good. It will be important
to see our condition when we play Stuttgart but if we are strong like now, I
am very confident.
"I don't know if it is better to be playing away the first game but maybe
for us it is because so far we have won all our Champions League games away."
