A SMASH AND GRAB RAID: FRANK

A last minute John Terry own-goal ended Chelsea's 12 match unbeaten run but
Frank McLintock believes they were victims of a Bolton 'smash and grab raid' on
Stamford Bridge.
Hernan Crespo put the Blues ahead after 22 minutes but the Trotters were soon
back on level terms - against the run of play - when Bruno N'Gotty rose first
to Youri Djorkaeff's free-kick.
As Chelsea threw everything forward, searching for the elusive winner, Bolton
substitute, Henrik Pedersen, ran down the wing and flashed it across the six
yard box, only to see it deflect off Terry and into the Chelsea net.
But McLintock insists Chelsea would still be at the Premiership's summit if
they had converted some of the many chances that came their way.
"It was something of a smash and grab raid," said Frank. "Sometimes you play
matches when you really do everything almost right but it just doesn't happen.
"They played terrific football mostly for 90 minutes. They created lots of
chances but didn't actually put the ball in the net enough times.
"They scored first and I thought that was going to land about three or four.
Within minutes N'Gotty out-jumped the Chelsea defenders and made it 1-1.
"The second half was very muck like the first: all Chelsea. But Bolton, to
their credit, never gave up. They kept battling away and every now and then had an
attack.
"And just at the end, when I thought it was going finish, Pedersen came on. He
ran along the bye-line and went to cross the ball across the six-yard box,
Cudicini dived out to smoother it and it hit Terry's ankle and eventually Bolton wo
n 2-1.
"It was a travesty really but at the same time Bolton must be happy with the
way they battled away and never gave up.
"But in fairness Chelsea created enough chances to win three matches today."
上個禮拜VS Leeds 沒拿下, 就覺得不妥, Leeds那場將近快20次射門,
卻只進一球就已經令人不安, Leeds快降級的隊伍都可以打平, 昨天那
場失敗是可預見的, 如何提高把握進球機率, 是我們當前的課題,
Mutu. Lampard. 已久不知進球滋味...
昨天還夢到今天Arsenal今天會進9個球....真是個惡夢
