AJAX LINKED WITH OLD BOY GRONKJAER

Ajax technical director Louis van Gaal has hinted that the club could
be weighing up a move for former stars Marc Overmars or Jesper Gronkjaer.
The Dutch giants have made a new right winger one of their top
priorities in the summer and Barca star Overmars and Chelsea's Gronkjaer are
thought to be the men in their sights.
Van Gaal was spotted at Chelsea last month to take in a game and
Gronkjaer is believed to be the reason for his visit to Stamford Bridge.
Ajax and Chelsea are reported to be considering a link-up between the
two clubs and the good relationship between them could see a deal for
Gronkjaer struck easily.
Gronkjaer has been in and out of the Chelsea side this season and with
Roman Abramovich set to fund a major transfer spree in the summer they
could be willing to cash-in on the flying Dane.
Overmars has been linked with a move away from Barcelona for some time
after failing to hold down a regular place in Frank Rijkaard's first team.
The former Arsenal ace fears for his future and he would probably jump
at the chance to return to the Amsterdam ArenA.
Van Gaal believes that Overmars and Gronkjaer would be ideal additions
as they know the Ajax system.
"Those two players know the Ajax system," van Gaal told Dutch TV.
Former Barca coach van Gaal is also confident that, with a few signings
, Ajax can do well in next season's UEFA Champions League.
"I think we can reach the quarter finals," added van Gaal.
Ajax coach Ronald Koeman is lining up new signings with Rafael van der
Vaart reported to be ready to move on in the summer.
