    William Gallas has laughed off speculation in the media that he ‘did a

runner’ when the team was at Old Trafford on Saturday and went to Guadeloupe.


    He appeared on Chelsea TV last night with his passport which he hadn’t

reclaimed following the European game until Saturday evening when he went to

France.


    “I was in Paris to see my specialist because I have a problem with my

hamstring, and I went to see the doctor and I came back today,” he explained.


    “When I was in France someone called me and told me, ‘You are in the

Caribbean?’ and I said, ‘No, why?’ and the man told me, "because you are

in the newspaper and maybe you have a big problem with Ranieri.’


    ‘I said no, I just talked with him before Manchester and I told him I

can't play because I have a problem with my hamstring, it's painful and he

said, ‘Okay’, and that's it.”


    He hopes to train fully today and play on Saturday against Leeds. “I

hope so. Today I trained, I ran and maybe tomorrow I am going to touch the

ball and after we will see, we will see.”
