BRUCE READY FOR GRONK SWOOP

Birmingham City manager Steve Bruce is to step-up his bid to bring
European football to St Andrews with a raid on Stamford Bridge for wideman
Jesper Gronkjaer.
The erratic Danish winger is reportedly top of Bruce's wish list and
could complete a trio of big name signings in the summer.
Leicester City midfielder Muzzy Izzet and Liverpool hitman Emile Heskey
have been earmarked for summer moves to the Midlands - with Gronkjaer seen
as a player capable of delivering flair to complement Birmingham's resilience.
With Chelsea having signed Dutch starlet Arjen Robben for ￡12 million,
Gronkjaer, who has a year left on his contract, is likely to head a Stamford
Bridge clear-out in the summer.
A reported ￡2 million fee has been mooted, with Bruce hopeful
Gronkjaer's friendship with Mikael Forssell could help seal a deal.
Meanwhile, Paul Dickov could be following in Izzet's footsteps by making
a move to St Andrews.
The fiery Scot has a clause in his contract that allows him to leave
Leicester for a cut-price fee - which has alerted Bruce to the prospect of
landing Leicester's top-scorer.
