Chelsea fail in bid to sign Betis' Gudjonsson
Chelsea have been thwarted in their attempt to sign Real Betis midfielder Joey
Gudjonsson.
The Iceland international spent a spell on loan at Aston Villa last season.
David O'Leary is still to decide on whether to extend the 22-year-old's loan
stay.
Betis president Manuel Ruiz de Lopera told skysports.com: "Chelsea were strong
candidates for the player but they failed to complete the transfer.
"I know Claudio Ranieri well and he's told me how disappointed he is with this
outcome."
