Forssell future unclear
Birmingham's on-loan Chelsea striker Mikael Forssell admitted he "does
not know" where he be next season.
Steve Bruce has secured the Finland international's services until the
end of the current campaign.
But the ￡5m-rated star has been linked with a permanent move to the
Midlands, despite the fact that he is officially due to return to Stamford
Bridge.
"The official thing is that I am going back to Chelsea. There is
speculation, but I am quite calm," said Forssell.
The 21-year-old, who signed a four-year deal with Chelsea in August, is
Birmingham's top scorer with nine goals.
"I know that in football anything can happen. You can be injured one day
, at another club the next," he said.
"That is why I just want to do my best for the rest of this season and
see what happens.
"I know everyone else is talking about my situation - but not me.
"I'm relaxed. If Chelsea said "you are not in our plans" then I could
say something, but nothing has been said."
Bruce has made no secret of his desire to sign Forssell on a permanent
basis.
"Mikael is Chelsea's player, but if they give us a hint that we can buy
him, I'll do everything in my power to get him."
Forssell will not be able to play for Birmingham at Stamford Bridge on
Sunday as part of the loan agreement.
He will watch the match on television in Finland after being allowed to
take a short break.
