Cech makes Chelsea vow

Petr Cech is vowing to replace Carlo Cudicini as Chelsea's number one

goalkeeper.


Cech will sign for the Blues for ￡9m later this week, but the goalkeeper will

not move to Stamford Bridge from current club Rennes until June.


Cudicini is reported to be heading back to Italy at the end of the season.


"From what I know I will be the number one goalkeeper at Chelsea," said the

21-year-old Czech international.


"But of course I will have to fight for my place and play well when I get there


"I have not yet signed a deal because there are still a few details to be
solved.


"I know that the meeting on Tuesday went well and that both clubs plan to meet

again and everything should be settled at the end of the week.


"For me this is all a dream come true."


Cech has been over to London and revealed he has seen the inside of billionaire

owner Roman Abramovich's executive box.


"I wanted to see Mr Abramovich's box. It is a fantastic place - I loved being

shown round the ground and Chelsea Village," Cech added.


"This is the place for me and when the transfer is finally sealed I will open

a bottle of vintage wine to celebrate.


"I have never hidden my desire to move to the Premiership as quickly as

possible and I told Rennes that from the day I signed for them."


The French outfit admitted on Tuesday that a deal was close but stressed that

Cech would stay with them until the end of the season.


"The deal has not yet been sealed and I don't think it will be before the end

of the week," said Rennes general manager Pierre Dreossi.


"It took us time to make Chelsea understand that there was no way we would let

Petr go before the end of the season.


"For them it was now or never, but last weekend things changed and Chelsea got

used to the idea.


"As far as we are concerned we were not against negotiating a transfer for next

summer."
