Scott Parker believes Chelsea and Charlton were right to stop him
playing in the game between the two sides on Sunday.
The midfielder recently made the move to Stamford Bridge from The
Addicks and part of the deal was that he would not play in the Premier
League fixture.
Now he will have to sit and watch his new team-mates take on his old
side but feels it is the correct thing to do.
"I am frustrated because I do want to play but I think the right
decision has been made," stated Parker to Chelsea TV. "It might be a bit
hostile on my part so it was right."
The England international made his debut for The Blues against Blackburn
last Sunday and played in an unaccustomed position on the right of midfield.
However he has no problem with a change from his normal central role as
he knows competition for places is high in Claudio Ranieri's team.
"I wanted to make a good impression on my debut," explained Parker.
"It was going to be tough because I hadn't played for a while but
hopefully I can build on that performance.
"If it means me playing out wide to get in the team then I will do that."
