PSV Eindhoven president Harry van Raaij has confirmed the Dutch
Eredivisie club are close to finalising an agreement with big-spending
Chelsea.
The clubs demonstrated their new-found partnership following the Philips
Stadion outfit's recent signing of Alex, with whom Chelsea helped bring to
Holland.
The ￡7 million purchase from Santos at the weekend, bankrolled by
Chelsea, will play with PSV for a while before making the switch to Stamford
Bridge.
Blues' new chief executive Peter Kenyon recently met with the club for
'general discussions' along with discussing the long-term future of
Manchester United target Arjen Robben.
"Nothing's been properly finalised just yet, but there are clear
advantages for everyone involved," explained van Raaij.
"And it is true Chelsea are behind this signing of Alex for PSV.
Everyone's hopeful we can continue to work together for the good of both
clubs."
