Cudicini injured in training

Carlo Cudicini is out of Saturday’s game at Bolton after badly bruising
a finger and cracking a bone in his hand in training today.
The goalkeeper underwent a scan to discover the bad news, but there was
hope as well as he will be able to resume training as soon as the bruising
goes down.
Marco Ambrosio and Neil Sullivan are the other two senior goalkeepers.
Sullivan has kept goal recently in Cudicini’s absence, but last Tuesday he
was put in the reserves at Portsmouth while Ambrosio warmed the bench
against Stuttgart.
Big Yves Makabu-Makalambay, the youth team goalkeeper who has been in
fine form of late, has been registered with the Premier League and will
carry No 50 for the remainder of the season.
Meanwhile, Glen Johnson’s ankle has been scanned, and the ankle sprain
he suffered against Stuttgart is quite a bad one and will keep him out for
a few weeks.
