Jones laments lapse

Wolves manager Dave Jones blamed his team's loss to Chelsea on their "gung-ho"
attitude after going 2-1 up.


"I blame us because for 70 minutes we were in charge of the game," he said.


"Then we started to charge all over the place and lost our shape and discipline
 trying for the third goal - which would have come if we'd let them chase.


"It was similar to what happened at Liverpool last week and I would rather we
played terrible football and came away with a victory."


Jones made it clear that the scoreline did not reflect the play at Stamford
Bridge.


"It looks like a rout but it wasn't, although that's no consolation.


"I felt we deserved not just one point but all three, but we worked for only
70 minutes and you cannot do that at this level."


Wolves remain bottom of the table, but Jones has not given up hope of
surviving the drop.


"There is still a fair amount of football to be played.


"We cannot rely on anyone else, we have to do it ourselves and I would say we
need five wins, although even that might not be enough."
