Blues internationals in for training

Chelsea’s internationals are returning from around Europe, and indeed
the world, today and will have a warm-down training session this evening so
as to prepare perfectly for training tomorrow and the Tottenham game on
Saturday.
There was plenty of Blues action in the international games.
Argentina 1 Ecuador 0
Played on Tuesday. Hernan Crespo scored the only goal of the game. He
played all 90 minutes.
Bulgaria 2 Russia 2
On loan Alexei Smertin played the first-half after which Russia were
leading 2-1.
England Under 18s 1 Belgium Under 18s 0
Played at Northampton last night. Yves Makabu-Ma Kalambay kept goal in
the scoreless second-half for Belgium. A quiet night, he had to make only
one save.
Germany Under 20s 1 Austria Under 20s 0
Robert Huth, now a fixture in the Germany side, played all 90 minutes.
Holland 0 France 0
Mario Melchiot returned to the right-back slot to play all 90 minutes
for Holland. On loan Boudewijn Zenden was left-back. For France, captain
Marcel Desailly played the whole game. Claude Makelele went off after 57
minutes, William Gallas went on after 67.
Ireland 2 Czech Republic 1
Damien Duff was in outstanding form for the first 67 minutes until he
went off. Back in goal after injury for Czech Republic, Petr Cech, joining
us in the summer, played the scoreless first-half.
Scotland 1 Romania 2
Adrian Mutu for once didn’t score for his country but played the whole
game.
Spain 2 Denmark 0
Ninety minutes for Jesper Gronkjar.
Sweden 1 England 0
John Terry played the scoreless first-half. Joe Cole went on after an
hour and Scott Parker after 78 minutes. Sweden scored in the 54th minute
when there were no Chelsea players on the pitch.
Sweden Under 21s 2 England Under 21s 2
Played on Tuesday. On loan Carlton Cole went off after 69 minutes.
Albania 2 Iceland 1
