Lampard: We're not invincible

Frank Lampard says the Chelsea players are taking it one game at a time
after they progressed to the Carling Cup semi-finals with a 2-1 victory
over Fulham at Craven Cottage.


The England international netted an 88th-minute winner after Brian McBride
had cancelled out Damien Duff's opener.

The Blues, who have only been beaten once this season, survived a fierce
onslaught from the Cottagers at the start of the game to continue their
remarkable run.

Said Lampard: "We beat them 4-1 here a couple of weeks ago so we knew that
was fresh in their minds. And their manager gave them a bit of stick after
their game at the weekend - so we knew they would come out flying.

"We never think we're invincible - Arsenal got to that level last year and
we've got to get there. There's always the possibility to get beaten in the
next game.''

On his goal, which Fulham goalkeeper Edwin van der Sar got down to but
failed to keep out, Lampard added: "You have to shoot from the edge of the
box and sometimes you get a bit of luck - which we got.

"We want to go on and win this competition - a potential trip to the
Millennium Stadium means we could have a cup in the bag by the end of
February."

Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho was full of praise for his opposite number Chris
Coleman, who blasted his team after their poor performance on Saturday
resulted in a 2-0 home defeat at the hands of Blackburn.

He said: "I felt in the first half it is always difficult when you have to
play a team you played 15 days ago. They could study it and prepare for
this one - and I felt Chris Coleman did a great job.

"I think he was very strong in the days after the Blackburn game. He put a
lot of pressure on his players and their answer was fantastic.

"During the game tonight I was laughing, saying to him 'if you'd been like
this against Blackburn you would have beaten them 4-0'. -__-"

"I want to give Fulham credit - at half-time we had to change because
(Papa Bouba) Diop was playing with a lot of freedom.

"When we got the first goal I thought the game was under control, but their
answer was very good and I think we were a bit lucky to score that goal at
the end."
