http://www.chelseafc.com/article.asp?hlid=244915 Carvalho out but not for long Friday, Dec 17, 2004 Ricardo Carvalho will not line-up against Norwich City on Saturday afternoon due to injury. The Portuguese central defender is still suffering from the effects of a broken toe that also saw him withdrawn at half-time from the last game against Arsenal. He joins his fellow centre-back Robert Huth on the injured list, the youngster yet to recover from an ankle strain suffered on German international duty. On Carvalho’s condition, Jose Mourinho reported “I think he can come back maybe for Aston Villa [on Boxing Day], maybe not - but for Liverpool [on New Year’s Day] for sure. So if we don’t have any more injuries, we are in a good position to fight in the four matches we play over Christmas.” That run of games begins against 16th placed Norwich who in the last month have enjoyed their best form of the season. Securing the full three points will be no push over warns the Chelsea manager. He said: “Norwich don’t win a lot of matches, they have only two victories, but they don’t lose matches. They have a lot of draws. “I think because they are first season in the Premiership, their objective is point after point with every point important as they jump a little bit higher and see a minimum of three teams behind them. Then they are happy and stable. “They play compact. At this moment they almost play with only one player in front. The two wingers close a lot in midfield so I would say they play 4-5-1. And it is always difficulty to play against these teams. “We know what happened in other games at Stamford Bridge,” he continued. “Even against Newcastle you see 4-0 and you think this was an easy match but we were almost losing at half-time so every game is a difficult match. “I have spoken with the players and I said when have gone to Highbury where you could have lost your distance at the top but you kept the five points difference, it is stupid if you don’t do the same at home to Norwich. “So we have in our mind that it is very important for us to win these kind of games at home, we are focussed on that. But for sure it will not be easy.” Norwich too have only a handful of injuries, all in midfield. Gary Holt, Damien Francis and Phil Mulryne are all ruled out but striker Leon McKenzie returns. In their last game, Arsenal loanee David Bentley, Youssef Safri and Thomas Helveg filled the midfield. Helveg’s last experience of Chelsea was in the Champions League for Milan. Norwich lost on their last two visits to The Bridge – three seasons ago in the FA Cup and on the opening day of the ‘94/’95 League campaign when goals from Frank Sinclair and Paul Furlong did the damage. Prior to that however The Canaries won three and drew two. by Paul Mason ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ 今天實在是太亢奮了 @@ 我有空再翻吧 -- RomanAbramovich。JoseMourinho。SteveClarke。PetrCech。LennyPidgeley。 CarloCudicini。RicardoCarvalho。ScottParker。RobertHuth。TiagoMendes。 FilipeOliveira。GlenJohnson。NjitapGeremi。ClaudeMakelele。DamienDuff。 FrankLampard。NunoMorais。DidierDrogba。YvesMakabaMakalambyMatejaKezmanAlexeiSmertin。JoeCole。EidurGudjohnsen。WilliamGallas。 ArjenRobben。WayneBridge。PauloFerreira。CelestineBabayaro。JohnTerry -- ※ 發信站: 批踢踢實業坊(ptt.cc) ◆ From: 218.168.33.164
