Petr Cech will push himself through the pain barrier to keep goal for Chelsea
against Barcelona on Tuesday evening.
The Czech shot-stopper hurt his head and neck during Chelsea's 3-1 victory
overNorwich City on Saturday.
Cech was injured in a collision with team-mate Jiri Jarosik as The Blues
defended a corner
"We were defending a corner and I threw Jiri Jarosik towards the bar and when
he was falling he kicked me in my neck," Cech told his personal website.
"On top of that we hit ourselves on the bar. We really massacred ourselves.
"But I can play in the Champions League even if my head and neck are still in
a lot of pain."
Cech was unbeaten in the previous 10 matches and was delighted that his
sequence broke through the 1,000 minute barrier.
He added: "It certainly delights me. Before the match I told myself it would
be nice to achieve 1,000 minutes when I'm so close to it.
"I achieved that so I can be satisfied."
"The most important thing of all was to gain three points which puts us, also
thanks to Manchester United, one step towards to the title," he continued.
"As on many times this season, we showed our team spirit. We played
professionally and we deserved to win."
